I realize this figure is part of a limited edition, but I'm wondering how the value went from 40$ retail to 300$. I would happily pay 100$ to anyone who has one, but 300$ seems excessive to me.

I agree with the other reviewer here. You must be kidding paying $300.00 for this thing! I read that this Sideshow Toy was limited to 5000 and it did list for around $30.00-$40.00. Listed as an action figure...I read online that it has only slightly limited leg/arm movement (like a Barbie Doll?) and the "Ray Gun" doesn't even light up. No batteries..no walkie ...no zappy...(If I'm wrong please let me know). So what's so action about this? Especially for hundreds of dollars. Reading the ad, I figured it was metal and not plastic and that it walked and made zapping sounds or something. But it's plastic and static from what I've read online. You must be kidding?
This is so sad because this could have been such a fantastic action toy for the fans...(but as usual in these days...greed runs rampant)
Save your money for the Twilight Zone Box Set and a good companion book. It doesn't get better than that.

Wow - A REALLY GREAT COLLECTIBLE FOR TWILIGHT ZONE FANS
I guess I just don't get some things. The other two reviews here are complaining about the $300 collectible price which is the going rate now because these are long out of production and extremely rare. The other two reviews don't review the product at all... so I will.
This case has a fold out cover with a great screen caps from the twilight zone episode... and a write-up on the episode. The "invader" is encased behind a clear plastic cover in the box on the right side (after you fold out the cover). The "invader" is gold... and a perfect replica of the show's invader.
Detail and replication: Five stars.
Packaging: Five stars.
In two words? THE GREATEST.
