We got this for my son's 6th birthday and we love it.
I was concerned that it might be too difficult for him to transform and he wouldn't want to play with it. I was wrong. I transformed it for him a two times using the picture instructions. It took a very long time the first time. After that, I helped him a few times whenever he got stuck. After a week, he can do it all by himself.
I was also concerned that it might be too fragile and fall apart like some of the other transformers we have. I was wrong about that too. It's not indestructible though.
This has probably been the best Transformer purchase we've made, and we own quite a few.
