An already great figure is even better
This figure is a Japanese exclusive. It is made by Takara not Hasbro but is still the same mold as the leader class figure. I would recommend this figure only to transformers fans. Unfortunatly it is going to be at a premium price here in the states. It is worth it for fans because it has amazing paint work and chrome plating. It looks like it could be considered as a masterpiece figure. It also features a gas tank gun gimmick not featured on the standard leader class mold. That part could be better. Overall it high points are the paint work the screen accurate desgin. its low points are price and tranformation(it is very hard to transform). Again I recommend it for fans because it's impresive and probably won't be released by Hasbro in the U.S. for parents wanting to get their kid a transformer toy the standard leader class optimus will be fine.
Very good looking figure

When I saw transformers the movie the first time I immediately thought how cool it would be to have an Optimus Prime figure that resembles the CGI model seen on the movie. This figure does it in a very good way. Takara did a great paint job on this figure and this is indeed superior to the Hasbro's version. However, it's very complicated to transform and it is kind of Fragile, so, it can be broken or damaged if you don't do it carefully.
Perfect figure for displaying, not very good for playing and young kids.

Nicely painted in silver, red and blue. With a few silver chrome details in truck mode, too. It has lights, sounds and a few automorph parts that transform for you. Neat, but the painted details is what I really admire...
