Gorgeous Statue!
This statue is absolutely gorgeous! My statue has no paint issues whatsoever and sculpt is impeccable. The statue comes all in one piece so no assembly is required. The base is sturdy enough to hold both Superman and Wonder Woman. Although DC Collectibles has stated that the statue is limited edition, it does not come numbered.
In addition, there have been some reports of this particular statue being released in different intervals. I received my statue in the last week of August 2013 which were the first batch of statues (shipped around mid-August and early to mid-September) that I could only assume didn't have too many issues with the statue and its paint application. After second release of this statue (the second batch presumably shipped around mid-October to early November), I have been reading some issues of collectors receiving the statue who had problems with paint application and statue issues such as Wonder Woman's leg being detached from the cloud base and...
Wonderful, but different
While the workmanship is top notch there were a few discrepancies between the box art and the final product. From looking at the picture it looks like their faces are facing each other, their faces actually don't line up at all. Another difference is that in the box art Wonder Woman's lasso is braided wire, but on the actual statue it is a single wire. Again if you can look over these differences, it is still a beautiful piece of art.
Beautiful Concept, Critical Design Flaw
I am a big fan of the Superman & Wonder Woman pairing and the concept of these two flying while kissing was simply a statue that I could not pass up.
I had a few reservations about purchasing this statue for one reason: I was afraid of receiving a broken one due to its construction. And sadly, my reservations were not unfounded. The statue is packaged quite well in regards to protecting the item inside thick molded Styrofoam so DC and the manufacturers put forth a good effort to protect it during shipping. The main problem centers around the weight of both Superman and Wonder Woman being suspended solely from Wonder Woman's right leg.
When I first picked up the statue, the pair broke off of its cloud base.
