I purchased this a Christmas present for myself. I confess I was a little ashamed of myself for paying this kind of money for an action figure, but this is what geeks do. It is rare for a favorite actor to play a favorite character, but in this case this wonderful dichotomy occurred when Alan Rickman gave us one of the most amazing performances in film history by bringing Severus Snape to life. My shame in paying the price went away when I received this. It was AMAZING. Simply AMAZING. The box, the packaging, the quality. Mine is still safely packaged in the box. To me, it is something i will treasure for many years, and I don't want to pull the figure out of the box for that reason. The detail is stellar. The painting and the details are so precise. The only reason I gave this item 3 stars for durability is because i don't know how "durable" it would be under unknown conditions. Worth it for a Snape fan!
Like the other reviewer, I felt bad at spending this much on something for my Snape collection. However, once it arrived, I knew I made the right decision. This is a brilliant item that I will cherish for years to come. He is worth what I paid for him. He is incredibly detailed and the pictures here do not do him justice. He looks like Movie!Snape, right down to his hands! He does look like Alan Rickman as Movie!Snape. The box is very lovely itself, but he does come with a stand that is not listed in product details. He can stand on his own without the stand, but for better support, I'd use the display stand.
He has a wand, which is an exact replica of Snape's wand. He comes with five replaceable hands: two are open, two are fists and one holds his wand. His costume is cloth and an exact match to Movie!Snape, right down to the buttons. His robes are very soft and made of a lightweight material - looks like they could collect dust very easily if he's left in the open...
