A tribute to Tales of the Jedi
Tales of the Jedi has probably been overshadowed by Knights of the Republic nowadays, but back during the early 1990s that and Timothy Zahn's books were IT for Star Wars. More interestingly, Tales of the Jedi always had a distinct style to it, almost more medieval that sci-fi. In fact, it really seemed like it took place 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin (as much as I love Knights of the Republic, the context and technology honestly seems as advanced as what we see in the prequels). The characters were bold archetypes with a decidedly epic bent. Given all this, I think Hasbro did a pretty good job with these figures. They do capture that quasi-medieval feel. The clothes for the figures are great, especially Exar Kun's detailed suit and flowing cape. It would have been nice if Ulic had a soft-goods skirt, but the plastic was molded in a dramatic, flowing pose, which looks appropriately battle-worn. It's hard to say whether their faces are accurately likenesses, but again Hasbro...
Old Republic FTW
Old Republic figures consistantly become collector's items that skyrocket in value after they are not available in stores (and are notoriously out of stock when they are).

The figures are well made, and decent representations of their comic-book avatars. My only complaint is the Ulic figure looks a bit more "boyish" that he does in the comic book. I don't know whether he's going to fight the Sith Wars or start a boyband.

If you already own this set, hang on to it, as it's guarenteed to be worth 100 times more than you paid for it once the May 2010 release expires in August, and these sets will be impossible to find in stores.

If you don't already own it, and you're a Star Wars and/or Old Republic fan, what are you waiting for?

Seriously?
I've always loved Star Wars, but I have to question who in their right mind would pay 200+ dollars for pieces of plastic, no matter how "pivotal" to the mythos the characters are. Woe behold any completionist Jedi/Sith hunter who stumbles across this horrible rip off. Would shop elsewhere.
