Luke's is the best of the ones I tried
I needed a lightsaber for Halloween this year. It was too late to mail order one, so I went to the mall to see who carried them, what they looked like, and how they worked.
Was looking for the Anakin (blue blade) or the Mace Windu (purple blade) models, but was only able to find the Darth Maul (red blade), Darth Vader (red blade), and Luke Skywalker (green blade) models. In the fluorescent lighting of the stores, the Vader and Maul blades were not very bright and actually were rather pink looking. The green blade of the Luke saber was much brighter in comparison. The volume of the sound effects seemed louder from the Luke model as well. I attribute the superior brightness and loudness of the Luke model to the fact that it takes 6 AA batteries, rather than 3 like the other two models I played with.
The Maul also had some plastic on the handle up near the blade, which turned me off. The Luke model is all aluminum, turned and machined, and no plastic except...
A Great Buy For Any Star Wars Fan
This thing is awesome. Me and my bro just got one for Christmas, and loved them right away. I got the Anakin Skywalker, while me brother got the Luke Skywalker. I am 4 years younger than my 16 year old brother, and we both had a problem. I thought the Anakin was too heavy, and he thought the Luke was too light. We immediatly traded and loved the outcome. Although Luke is not my favorite character, (Obi Wan is), It did not matter.
I love it. Me and my bro take it on our trampoline at night when it gets dark, and he usually kicks my ass. It is way fun. The only problem is the blade. It's effects are awesome, but the blade was cracked after only a week. This could have resulted from my bro hitting it too hard, a faulty blade, or just the saber itself. The Anakin is much more durable, but is very heavy. The Luke is quick and light, but more fragile.
If you take it easy, then you will have years out of these things. After continuous fighting with these sabers,...
A Kid's Review
The saber is awesome, colors are VERY bright, and you feel like a jedi master while holding the thing. But, be very careful, if you hit something too hard you WILL stress fracture the blade. I havent used any of the other sabers, but the blade on this one wasnt very strong. Just be gentle, and this sucker will last ya.
