I've read that there were people complaining of flaking problems. I've never had any problems with mine, which makes me think it comes down to poor climate control by the owners. Because paint doesn't necessarily like to adhere to chrome, it's important to keep this guy in an air conditioned house to avoid the paint shrinking/expanding and eventually flaking.
