The Iron Man Mark III Battle Damaged figure from Hot Toys is an amazing, if expensive, piece of work. The Mark II and III (if you're familiar with those) were super cool and you'd think that this version would be a straight duplicate of the previous Mark III, but you'd be wrong. I don't think I can do this without making some comparisons but I'll try to be sure the comments stand on their own. Sorry, this is going to be long.
The sculpting of the suit is amazing whether using the more battle damaged chest or not, or no chest at all. The arms legs torso and head are all extremely detailed with every line, visible switch and screw sharply defined. The neck is slightly longer looking than before. The right forearm is marginally thicker than the left due to the action feature but you really have to be looking close to tell. THE definitive MkIII iron man armor from the first movie. if you are like me, you need to have the "first appearance" version to start off the collection. sure, the MkII was the big reveal, but you need the red and gold avenger as you know him!
Hot Toys knocked this out of the park. everything is incredibly detailed, paint application is flawless and perfectly colored. the only thing i wish this version had is the later (Iron Man 2 series) individual finger articulated hands. otherwise this thing is IT! he is the centerpiece of what i hope will eventually be my 12 inch avenger collection. although i am considering a trade for MkVI + War Machine... but how could i part with something so awesome? this should be in EVERY collector's hall of armor!
